Muratie Martin Melck Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
2017
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Muratie Wine Estate, under the stewardship of Rijk Melck and his family, is tucked into the exquisite Knorhoek Valley north of Stellenbosch. The farm itself dates to 1685 when it was granted by Governor Simon van der Stel who was Governor of the Cape of Good Hope at the time. This makes Muratie one of the oldest estates in South Africa. The Muratie Martin Melck Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 expresses concentrated dark fruit (black cherries, berries and plums) underscored by fresh acidity and framed by cedar wood and spice from 18 months in French oak (10% new). Sourced from three different blocks on the estate, it’s opulent yet polished, a red wine of integration, balance, and great length, true to its terroir.
